Symphony No. 4
Hamburg is associated with many composers from the Baroque to modern times, including C. P. E. Bаch, G. P. Telemann, Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn, Gustav Mahler, Alfred Schnittke, György Ligeti, and Sofia Gubaidulina. However, by far the biggest impact on the musical history of this port city was made by Johannes Brahms. Our concert program, conducted by Marcus Bosch, includes three of Brahms’ colossal achievements of various genres – Tragic Overture, Double Concerto for Violin and Cello, and Symphony No. 4. The soloists are two outstanding Serbian musicians: violinist Stanko Madić and cellist Nemanja Stanković.
